"Heren met elkaar in gesprek," (Gentlemen in Conversation), a 1751-1816 engraving by Dutch artist Reinier Vinkeles (1741-1816), depicts a group of men engaged in a discussion. The scene is set in a garden with tall, slender trees framing the figures. Vinkeles' engraving is a fine example of a genre known as "conversation piece", a type of artwork popular in the 18th century that depicted casual gatherings of individuals. This piece currently resides in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
