This intricately detailed artwork, V, was made by Oleksandr Aksinin, but its exact date remains a mystery. Imagine him, maybe in his studio, hunched over this drawing, obsessively creating this world. It's like a cosmic egg or some kind of strange machine. The whole image is based on the relentless repetition of tiny marks. Look at the patterns, like the honeycomb in the background, or the zigzags above. Then there's this upside-down triangle and these M shapes in the middle. I like to think of Aksinin’s practice like that of Hilma af Klint, whose spiritual beliefs deeply influenced her artistic vision and her exploration of abstract forms, which I think is really interesting.
