This is “The Clockmaker” by Ivan Kliun, painted with oils on canvas. The artist builds form with a limited palette of grays, browns, and creams; it's almost like he's sculpting with light. The geometry makes me think of Cubism, but the muted colors give it a somber, almost industrial feel. Look at the lower left corner, where a watch face is embedded in the composition. The artist’s brushstrokes are visible, and the paint application is quite thin, allowing the canvas texture to peek through. It makes the painting feel like it's breathing, constantly shifting before your eyes. Kliun's engagement with geometric forms reminds me of Malevich, but there's also a distinct personality at play here. The longer you look, the more you realize that art isn't about answers, it’s about opening up space for questions.
