Tina Blau painted ‘Oetz 1901’ with what looks like oil on canvas, and the way she laid down the paint feels so intuitive. You can almost feel the dampness in the air through the brushstrokes. It's so great, right? I love how the colors are kind of muted, like she's captured a real moment rather than some idealized view. If you look closely, you can see how she built up the layers, especially in the trees. There’s this one little patch of green on the left, near the fence, that is like a shot of spring pushing through. And the road - the way it disappears into the distance is just amazing. It reminds me a bit of Corot, that same sense of being right there, in the landscape. Art is a conversation, isn’t it? It’s never just one thing; there’s always a million ways to see it, and none of them are wrong.
