Alfred Stieglitz made this photograph of Georgia O'Keeffe, sometime in his career. Looking at this portrait, I feel an incredible connection to both artists. Stieglitz was deeply in love with O’Keeffe, and you can feel the tenderness of his gaze, almost like a caress. The way he captures her direct stare, her hands, her posture – it's all so intimate. The light is soft but deliberate, shaping her face, highlighting her strength and vulnerability. I think about the dynamic between them, the artist and the muse, and how that plays out. It's like they're collaborating, even though only one is behind the camera. There’s this shared understanding of art and life, a conversation happening through the image. Stieglitz is not just documenting O'Keeffe; he’s revealing a part of himself, his admiration, his love. It’s beautiful to see.
