"En liggende hjort og en stående hind (samme motiv som recto) samt to studier af bladranke" (A Reclining Deer and a Standing Doe [same motif as recto] as well as two studies of leafy tendrils) is a pencil drawing by Danish artist Johan Thomas Lundbye (1818-1848). Created in 1836, the piece depicts a standing stag with elaborate antlers and a reclining doe in a naturalistic setting. The composition is complemented by a series of decorative tendrils with leaves. The artwork, held in the SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst, demonstrates Lundbye’s skill in capturing the beauty of nature through detailed, yet graceful lines. This work is a testament to Lundbye's mastery of animal studies and decorative motifs.
