Kazimir Malevich made this painting, Head of a Peasant Girl, with oil on canvas. Look at those warm earthy colors and how the forms feel constructed, almost like a puzzle. You can see he’s working through something, a process of breaking down an image to its most basic forms. The paint is applied in these small, deliberate strokes, building up a textured surface. Notice how the colors blend and shift, creating depth and shadow, especially in the triangular shapes that suggest a nose or cheekbone. The way he uses color to define form is interesting. It reminds me a little of Picasso, but more grounded, somehow. Maybe it's the Russian soul shining through. Ultimately, Malevich invites us to see beyond the surface, to engage with the act of seeing itself. It’s like he's saying, “Here, look at how I’m making this, and maybe you’ll see something new too."
