This Japanese bowl, created by the artist Ryusan in the late 19th century, showcases the intricate art of Imari ware. The bowl's design is a vibrant and detailed floral pattern, featuring colorful chrysanthemums and other flowers against a white background. The rim is accented with a geometric gold border, adding a touch of elegance. The bowl is a prime example of the rich aesthetic traditions of Japanese ceramics and would have been used for serving tea or other beverages during the Meiji period. The bowl is currently housed in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
