"Mansportret" (Male Portrait) is an anonymous portrait from the 17th-18th centuries housed at the Rijksmuseum. The artwork depicts a man in a simple dark robe, with a long white beard, wearing a hat and a chain, a common accessory among men of the period. The portrait is framed by an oval shape, a popular technique used to isolate the subject and create an intimate feel. This small-scale portrait, measuring just 78 mm in height and 69 mm in width, suggests that it may have been a personal commission rather than a grand display piece.
