Dado, sometime in the late 20th century, made this mixed media piece, Julie, a whirlwind of layered images and playful color. It’s a process-driven explosion, right? A lot of layering and a sense of immediacy. I love the way the houses are rendered, all wonky and bright. Then you spot these loose splatters of red – like a memory half-erased, or a narrative just out of reach. Those colors, that almost childlike freedom—it's like looking into someone's imagination. The juxtaposition of careful drawings with more haphazard marks is striking. It reminds me a little of Tal R., how he blends high and low art references, creating this wonderfully chaotic, deeply personal visual language. We are reminded that art is really just a dialogue, an ongoing conversation across generations. It is full of ambiguity and multiple interpretations, refusing to be pinned down.
