This silver coin, known as a "Hollands vuurijzer," was minted in 1481 by Maria of Burgundy, Duchess of Burgundy. It features her coat of arms, a central shield with the Burgundian cross, surrounded by the inscription "MARIA DEI GRATIA DUX BURGUNDIAE." This coin is part of the numismatic collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and reflects the artistry and symbolism of the Burgundian court in the late 15th century. The coin's small size, 2.7 cm in diameter, and weight, 2.96 grams, are typical of medieval currency.
