This is a sketchbook by Anton Mauve, a Dutch painter known for his landscapes and depictions of rural life. The sketchbook, currently housed at the Rijksmuseum, contains 33 sheets and was used by Mauve between 1848 and 1888. Its small size allowed Mauve to easily carry it around for on-the-go sketching, capturing fleeting moments of inspiration. The sketchbook's cover, made of canvas, reflects the practicality and artistic sensibility of the artist.
