This is a handle made of black horn with a curved knob and a silver-colored oval plate, created by Gelria. Can you imagine the process of shaping horn? I mean, there's an animal in there somewhere! So, how do you transform that life, that material, into something else? It’s wild to think about. I see it as a kind of collaboration – between the artist and the material itself. I bet Gelria was thinking about the tension between nature and artifice, between raw material and crafted object. That silver ring is so formal! It really pops against the horn's dark, organic texture. The contrast shows Gelria playing with different ways of seeing and experiencing the world, transforming something functional into something beautiful. It's a conversation between utility and adornment.
