Benedetta Cappa made "Il Grande X" using paint and a vision that's both bold and airy. The colours are light, but the composition is surprisingly strong. It feels like she's juggling geometry and dreams. I love how the painting is divided, almost like two worlds colliding or maybe co-existing. On one side, there's this almost architectural structure, all sharp lines, and then on the other, a fluid, almost surreal space. It's as though Cappa is showing us different ways of seeing, different realities layered on top of each other. Look at the way she's used thin washes of paint, letting the canvas breathe. It's not about heavy textures here, but about capturing a feeling, a mood. It reminds me a bit of Hilma af Klint, in the way both artists use abstraction to explore unseen realms. There's something wonderfully open-ended about this piece, inviting us to bring our own interpretations to the table.
