"Athena bei der mit Webereien beschäftigten Penelope" (Athena with Penelope Engaged in Weaving) is a 1832 painting by Philipp Veit, a German artist. The painting depicts the Greek goddess Athena visiting Penelope, the wife of Odysseus, in her palace. Penelope is known for her weaving, which she uses to delay her suitors while waiting for Odysseus's return from the Trojan War. The painting is notable for its detailed depiction of Greek clothing and architecture, as well as for its use of black and white, which was a popular style for Neoclassical art. The artwork is housed in the Städel Museum.
