Cup 1820

This ceramic cup, titled "Cup", is a beautiful example of a Chinese porcelain bowl from the early 19th century. The white porcelain base with a small foot provides a stark contrast to the delicate brushstrokes painted on the inside of the cup. The design features a scene of figures, possibly representing a story or event significant to Chinese culture. This piece, created by the artist Maekawa, is a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of the Qing dynasty and is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
