Editor: We're looking at "We Are Not the Last" by Zoran Music, a haunting image rendered, it seems, with drypoint. There's a raw vulnerability here, almost as if the figure is pleading. How do you interpret this work? Curator: It's gut-wrenching, isn't it? The way Music strips away everything superfluous, leaving us with just the essence of suffering. This is Music wrestling with his experience in Dachau; the tilted head might suggest defiance or utter exhaustion. Do you see the marks as scars? Editor: Yes, they do feel like scars. The image definitely resonates with a feeling of bearing witness. I hadn't thought of the defiance, though—that's interesting. Curator: It is, isn't it? Music isn't just showing us despair, he is asking us to remember. Perhaps defiance is the only weapon against forgetting. Editor: That makes the title, "We Are Not the Last," even more powerful. Curator: Absolutely. It is a promise and a warning. Art like this reminds us we must never look away.
