"Gulls" is a woodblock print by the Japanese artist Teisai Hokuba, depicting a group of figures in colorful robes against a backdrop of a flowering tree and a snowy landscape. Created between 1794 and 1806, this work showcases Hokuba's mastery of ukiyo-e, a genre that captured the fleeting beauty and everyday life of Edo-era Japan. The intricate detail of the figures' attire, particularly the vibrant patterns and textures, is a hallmark of Hokuba's style. The print, which measures 5 1/2 x 7 3/8 inches, is now housed in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
