Editor: Here we have Vittorio Sella’s photograph, "From the Hut Quintino Sella, 3601m, at Sunset: the day before the great storm of 15 July 1888." It feels so vast and foreboding. What strikes you most about it? Curator: The drama, definitely. Sella has captured a moment pregnant with potential. You can almost feel the electricity in the air before a storm, can't you? It reminds me of Turner, all sublime power and light. Is it a romantic landscape, or a weather forecast? Editor: It's both, I think! It makes me want to climb that mountain, but also run far, far away. Thanks for sharing your insight. Curator: My pleasure. Beauty and terror, intertwined. What more could one ask for?
