"September" is a 1777 etching by German artist Daniel Nikolaus Chodowiecki, now housed in the Rijksmuseum. The print depicts a scene of a young woman in a garden with her lover, who is seen climbing a tree to reach for fruit. This satirical scene satirizes the common motif of a man courting his beloved, but in this instance, the woman's true love may be the fruit itself, rather than her lover.
