Charles Bezie made this "Relief" using an unknown medium, and it really messes with your mind. The dark and light greys trick your eyes, like an Escher print. It's architectural but also... squishy. There's a tiny triangle poking out at the top, casting a shadow. It's such a small, strange detail, but it feels crucial. Like a glitch in the matrix, or a stubborn little thought that won't go away. It reminds me of a similar shape in some of Josef Albers' work, but Bezie's is more shadowy, less certain. It's not about perfection; it's about how the shapes and colours vibrate against each other, creating a space for you to get lost in.
