This snapshot of Saint-Saphorin by Ernst Lichtenhahn, wherever and whenever it was taken, captures a moment in time, now caught between the pages of a book. I'm struck by the contrast of the hard edges of the architecture against the soft, blurred background. You know, it makes me wonder about the photographer's relationship with this place, Saint-Saphorin. Were they drawn to the solidity of the structures, or did they find solace in the misty distance? The dark ink creates such a stark contrast. This image is a little window into another person's world, another person's seeing. And it reminds me that all art, all making, is just a way of trying to understand what we see, what we feel, and how we fit into it all. It’s all connected, this endless conversation through images and words.
