This bronze medal, created in 1814 by English medalist Sir Edward Thomason, celebrates Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, a Prussian field marshal. The obverse shows a profile portrait of Blücher, while the reverse features a wreath of laurel leaves surrounding an inscription in Latin. The medal commemorates Blücher’s elevation to Prince of Wahlstatt by King Frederick William III of Prussia, a title awarded in recognition of Blücher’s military leadership and his significant role in defeating Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo.
