This ceramic "Water Cooler," was made in Michoacan. The whole thing is green, but there's a playful approach to mark making. It's like someone was having fun with a single color, exploring its depths and possibilities. The texture is incredible. Look at how the light catches on the surface. It's not just smooth; it's bumpy, a little rough. That constant repetition of the little bumps all over the body create a visual rhythm, kind of like a dance. Then you have the shiny glaze on the top which is more reflective, contrasting nicely with the matte body. The lid has this funky plant-like form on top. It's like the piece is alive. I love the way the artist embraced the physicality of the clay, leaving traces of their hand in every detail. And that glaze! It pools in certain spots, creating darker green accents. It’s a reminder that art is an ongoing conversation, a dialogue between materials, process, and the artist’s vision.
