Editor: This is "Transformation 2" by Victor Pasmore. The strong, dark shapes against the white background give it a really striking feel. What can you tell me about it? Curator: Let's consider the printmaking process itself. How does the layering and the choice of such a limited palette affect our reading of the image as a manufactured object? Editor: So, it’s less about what it represents and more about how it was made and what that says? Curator: Exactly! The industrial aesthetic speaks to post-war production and consumption, turning art into a commodity. What do you think about the contrast between the organic shapes and the manufactured feel? Editor: That's fascinating. I'd never considered art in terms of material production before. Curator: It really changes how you see things, doesn't it?
