This painting was made by Pablo Picasso, though we don't know exactly when. Look at how the planes of color overlap and intersect! I wonder what it was like for Picasso to figure out how to render these objects, playing with abstraction and representation at the same time. You can see how the plate is depicted as a circle, but also a plane, like it's been flattened and distorted. I can imagine him circling the canvas, considering each line and shape, pushing and pulling to achieve the perfect balance between form and emotion. You know, painting is a lot like a conversation—the artist speaks through their brushstrokes, and we, as viewers, listen and respond with our own interpretations. It's this ongoing exchange of ideas that keeps painting alive and relevant, inspiring artists to push boundaries and challenge conventions, like he did so well.
