Tray (part of a service) 1809 - 1819

This silver tea and coffee service, “Tray (part of a service)”, created by Marc Jacquart, was made between 1809 and 1819. It is a remarkable example of French Neoclassical design, featuring intricate engravings of mythological scenes and ornate floral patterns. The service, comprised of a teapot, creamer, coffee pot, and tray, is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City. The exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail demonstrate the high artistry of silverwork during the early 19th century.
