Curator: This striking, large-scale print is an Untitled work by Felix Ruvolo. It is currently held here at the Harvard Art Museums. Editor: Wow, my first thought is...energy. It's like looking at a volcano of feelings, all those reds and pinks swirling together. Curator: The piece certainly has a visceral quality. Considering Ruvolo's involvement in the 1960s art scene, one might interpret the abstraction as a reflection of the social and political upheavals of the time. Editor: I can see that, but it also feels deeply personal, almost like an intimate glimpse into someone's inner world. Curator: Abstraction, of course, allows for multiple interpretations. The lack of a title further encourages viewers to engage with their own emotional responses and lived experiences. Editor: I think I’ll carry this fiery, internal landscape with me for a while. Curator: Indeed, Ruvolo's work leaves us with much to contemplate about the intersection of inner and outer worlds.
