Brita Molin created this artwork, "Open Doors" with what looks like layers of paper or card, all in off-white tones. It is a subtle dance of texture and form. I love how the shapes emerge almost tentatively from the surface. It is as if Molin is feeling her way through a landscape of her own making. The shadows cast by the raised areas create a sense of depth, hinting at spaces and pathways. I imagine Molin carefully cutting and layering each piece. Maybe she's thinking about the thresholds we cross, both physical and metaphorical, or how simple shapes can evoke complex feelings. It reminds me a bit of some of the early paper cut-outs of Matisse, though with its own quiet, understated voice. These artists are all in conversation, aren't they? Building on each other's ideas, finding new ways to express something essential about being human. It’s all about layers of meaning, isn't it?
