Covered teapot or winepot (pair with 1975.1.1702) 1662 - 1722

This pair of Chinese teapots, made during the Kangxi period (1662-1722), are a beautiful example of the craftsmanship of the time. They are adorned with a black glaze and delicate gold floral patterns. This style of decoration was popular during the Qing dynasty. The teapots are small and portable, suggesting they were intended for personal use. They are now part of the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
