René Magritte made "Call of peaks" using oil paint, a traditional fine art medium, to create an unsettling juxtaposition. Magritte's trompe l'oeil style is rendered by layering thin glazes of paint to give the image a sense of depth, particularly evident in the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. The texture of the oil paint is subtly manipulated to achieve a smooth, almost unreal finish, enhancing the dreamlike quality of the piece. The floating, wooden carpenter tools painted with precision, appear almost weightless against the backdrop of the mountains. The objects are devoid of any visible wood grain and are carefully rendered, highlighting the artificiality of the scene, which gives the impression of craftsmanship without any real utility. Magritte challenges our perception of reality by combining familiar objects in unexpected ways. By placing these tools in an unfamiliar context, Magritte invites us to question the nature of representation and the boundaries between the real and the imagined. The artist compels us to look beyond the surface and consider the deeper meanings embedded within everyday objects.
