This woodblock print, *Yoshitsune een serenade brengend aan Joruri hime*, was created between 1783 and 1787 by renowned Japanese artist Torii Kiyonaga. The artwork depicts a scene from the famous tale of Yoshitsune, a legendary warrior, serenading Joruri-hime, a woman of nobility. Kiyonaga is known for his *bijin-ga* (pictures of beautiful women) and this work exemplifies his style with its refined depiction of the figures and their intricate costumes. The print showcases the beauty of Japanese fashion and tradition, while narrating a story of love and bravery. The print is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
