This card was sent by Anna de Savornin Lohman, using ink, paper, and the postal service. You know, handwriting is fascinating. The way a word is formed on paper is a lot like a brushstroke. It’s a dance between intention and accident. The writing on this card is really interesting, look at the way she forms the letters; the thick and thin lines create a rhythm, a kind of visual music. I'm drawn to the 'W' of 'Weledele,' it almost looks like an abstracted landscape. It’s got a real sense of energy, doesn’t it? The purple ink against the off-white paper is such a simple combination, but it’s so effective. This reminds me of Cy Twombly’s work, the way he used text and mark-making to create these layered, ambiguous spaces. It’s a reminder that art isn’t just about the final product, it’s about the process, the conversation, and the exchange of ideas.
