Claude Monet painted Waterloo Bridge at Sunset with oils to capture an atmospheric scene. You can almost feel the cold air and fog, right? Look closely, and you can see how Monet built this world with lots of little brushstrokes that blend together. The pinks, blues, and yellows sit side by side, never quite mixing, which gives the painting this shimmering quality. The paint isn’t too thick, but you can see the marks, how he layered them to create the illusion of light reflecting on water. That little dab of yellow right under the bridge, for example, is like a tiny sun, pulling the whole painting together. It's amazing how he made the city seem so alive with just a few strokes of the brush. You can see echoes of Turner here, especially in the way he captures the light. Monet shows us how painting is about seeing and feeling more than just recording a place. It’s like he's inviting you to step into his world.
