Curator: Here we have Gordon House’s "Triangles within a Square," part of the Tate Collections. Look closely, and you'll see it's an exploration of geometric forms. Editor: It feels so grounded, so solid. The way the triangles push against the square gives it such a sense of contained energy, almost like a blueprint for a building. Curator: It's fascinating how House merges graphic design sensibilities with fine art printing techniques. Consider the labour involved in producing those precise lines. Editor: True! And that labor is almost meditative. I can imagine House lost in the process. It is so soothing to look at. Curator: It prompts questions about the value we place on different kinds of artistic labour, especially in printmaking. Editor: It really makes you appreciate the thoughtfulness behind seemingly simple shapes. Curator: Yes, and it pushes us to see familiar forms in new ways. Editor: Exactly! Art that makes you stop and think is the best kind.
