This silver beaker, crafted by Al'derman Petrov Fiodor in 1773, is a fine example of Russian silversmithing. The beaker is decorated with an elaborate engraved design, featuring a scene of two figures in a circular cartouche surrounded by scrolling foliage and a band of Cyrillic inscription. The inscription translates to "Where there is no desire, there is no gold." This beaker is currently on view in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
