This photograph by Edizione Brogi captures the Ponte a Santa Trinita over the Arno in Florence. Bridges, as potent symbols, have always fascinated me. Here, the bridge spans the river, an archetype of connection. We see it echoed through time: from the Pontifex Maximus, the Roman high priest who was literally a "bridge-builder" between gods and men, to the Bifröst bridge in Norse mythology linking Midgard and Asgard. The psychological weight is of overcoming divides, both physical and spiritual. Yet, the river below hints at the uncontrollable, the passage of time. This duality—structure versus fluidity— engages us on a subconscious level. This powerful, emotive pull, has resurfaced time and again, evolving with each telling.
