This landscape view of Rocamadour was made by Delizy using photography, and what strikes me is the way the light is captured, almost like a watercolor wash. It reminds me that artmaking isn't always about having all the answers but embracing the journey. The sepia tone gives the photograph a timeless quality. It's like looking through a vintage lens, where the world appears softer, almost dreamlike. The composition leads your eye on a wandering path, from the winding road in the foreground up to the buildings perched precariously on the cliff. This intentional arrangement adds depth. There’s this subtle contrast between the foreground and background, creating a sense of depth and space that invites you to step into the scene. It reminds me of the work of Eugène Atget, who photographed Paris at the turn of the century. Like Atget, Delizy captures a sense of place, inviting us to reflect on the beauty of the everyday and the passage of time.
