Editor: This is Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons' *Elevata, Row 3, column 2*. It has such a cool color palette. What's your read of this work? Curator: I see a powerful exploration of diaspora and memory. Campos-Pons, as a Cuban artist, often grapples with themes of displacement and identity. How do you see the contrasting textures and the color blue contributing to these themes? Editor: I guess the blue could reference water, like a journey? And the textures feel raw, maybe representing different layers of experience? Curator: Precisely. The rawness speaks to the fragmentation of memory, and the water motif connects to the forced migration experienced by so many. It encourages us to contemplate our shared histories. Editor: That gives me a lot to think about. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Curator: My pleasure. It's through these dialogues that we unlock the potency of art.
