Utagawa Hiroshige’s *Autumn- Maple Leaves at Kaian-ji Temple* (c. 1834-1835) is a *chūtanzaku* woodblock print that depicts a scene of autumn leaves in the countryside. Two figures are shown walking in the foreground, with a path leading them to a scene of sailboats on a body of water, seemingly at the end of the path, highlighting the relationship between nature and humanity. The print features bold, expressive brushwork and subtle colors, creating a sense of tranquility and peace. This print, along with the other works in the *One Hundred Famous Views of Edo* series, became one of the most popular and influential prints of the Edo period, making Hiroshige one of the most famous artists of the *ukiyo-e* movement.
