Editor: Tim Mara's "Four Heads" presents four portraits rendered as if from a digitized photograph. They feel impersonal, almost like mugshots. What do you see in this piece? Curator: The pixelated effect evokes ideas of identity in the digital age and the fragmentation of the self. This technique both reveals and conceals, much like memory itself. Do you see a commonality between these four portraits? Editor: Now that you mention it, the similar hairstyles and attire suggest they might be the same person represented at different moments. Curator: Precisely. Mara invites us to consider the evolving nature of identity and how it is constructed, or deconstructed, through visual media. Editor: That's a great point; I hadn't considered the cyclical nature of identity. Curator: It’s a powerful meditation on seeing and being seen.
