Curator: Here we have Jean Morin's engraving of René de Longueil. It’s like looking into the past, isn't it? Editor: It is! The ornate frame and detailed lines give it such a formal feel. What strikes you most about this portrait? Curator: For me, it's the sense of character Morin manages to capture. Longueil looks as if he has a lot to say, doesn't he? I wonder what stories he would tell. Editor: It's amazing how much you can infer from a simple etching! I'll remember that next time.
