"Donation of Constantine" is a pen and brown ink drawing by Giulio Romano, an Italian painter and architect. It depicts the biblical story of the Roman Emperor Constantine I donating land and temporal power to the Pope, a key event in the history of the Papacy. This drawing is a preparatory study for a large fresco. Romano, a student of Raphael, is known for his highly detailed and expressive drawings. The piece is currently housed at the Art Institute of Chicago.
