Curator: I think we can see this through the lens of environmental anxieties. The swamp, a space historically viewed with both fear and fascination, becomes a stage for these exotic flamingos, perhaps gesturing towards a changing world. Editor: Interesting. I'm drawn to the medium itself. The labor involved in creating such fine detail, the tools used for etching—they all speak to a specific kind of artistic production. Curator: Yes, and that production is inseparable from its time. The choice of landscape, the inclusion of these particular animals, all point to a certain worldview, a way of understanding our place in the world. Editor: Right. I appreciate the consideration of both the technique, and the world of meaning suggested.
