This silver medal, created by Thomas Simon in 1660, commemorates the return of Charles II to the throne of England. The obverse shows the King, riding through the City of London, with buildings and cheering crowds in the background. The reverse features an inscription that reads, "In aeternam memoriam Caroli II. Mag. Brit. Franc. et Hib. Regis. Clemente restituti. Anno Domini 1660." This translates to "To the eternal memory of Charles II, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, restored by divine grace, in the year of our Lord 1660."
