Niccolò di Liberatore, better known as Niccolò Alunno, was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance. This painting, *Saint Anne and the Virgin and Child Enthroned with Angels*, is an example of his later work. It was created between 1455 and 1464, and is housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City. The artwork shows the Virgin Mary sitting on a throne with the infant Jesus in her arms, while Saint Anne sits beside them. The scene is framed by a decorative, gold leaf background, and adorned with angels in the upper portion. The painting exemplifies the influence of the Sienese School, with its use of bright colors, and gentle, serene atmosphere.
