Rodrigo Franzao made this wire sculpture called "Projection of a Deformed Circle", and right away I’m struck by the tension between order and chaos, control and release. It's like a drawing in space, using the wire almost like line work. There's this grid at the top, all neat and structured, but then these tendrils of wire break away and cascade down, defying the grid's rigid geometry. Look at how each strand seems to have its own trajectory, bending and curving in unpredictable ways. The brown color of the wire gives it an earthy, organic feel, almost like roots or vines. It makes me think of Eva Hesse’s rope pieces, where she also explored the tension between geometric form and flowing, organic lines. It’s like Franzao is showing us how even the most structured systems can’t contain the messy, unpredictable forces of nature or the human spirit. Art, like life, embraces ambiguity and multiple interpretations, and that's what makes it so interesting.
