Jeremy Moon made this painting, Green Sound, with acrylic on canvas. I can just imagine him layering those bands of color. Like, was he thinking about music—a visual chord progression, maybe? I like the way he plays with color—the ochre sliding into a muted orange, then the greens and blues kinda vibrating against each other. I bet he had a system for this, but probably also let intuition guide him. I love that even within the hard edges of color, there’s a textural thing going on. It's not flat and dead; you can feel the weave of the canvas coming through. It reminds me a little bit of Agnes Martin. Painting is like having a conversation across time, right? We're all borrowing and stealing from each other, trying to find our own voice in the mix. And really, it is about mixing—mixing colors, mixing ideas, and just seeing what happens. It's a beautiful mess.
