This leaf from an illustrated manuscript of the *Apocalypse of John* depicts a scene of the Last Judgement. Dated to circa 1465, this anonymous work shows the imagery of the book of Revelation in a very detailed and graphic fashion. This particular leaf portrays a woman with wings and a staff surrounded by demons; the text reads that she was a powerful female figure who caused a great deal of suffering and was condemned to Hell. The leaf also features a soldier on horseback facing an army of demons, possibly a representation of a warrior defending the righteous against evil. This work demonstrates the popularization of biblical imagery within European manuscript art during the 15th century.
