Editor: So, here we have "Studies of Feet and Toes" by Louis de Boullogne the Younger. It’s a red chalk drawing from… well, we don’t know exactly when! I find the fragmented nature kind of unsettling. What do you see in this piece? Curator: I'm tickled by the feet, aren't you? It's the foundation, literally, but so often overlooked. Boullogne isolates them, forcing us to confront the nitty-gritty of human form, the very things we often hide in shoes. Editor: I guess I never thought of it that way. Curator: Perhaps it's a reminder that even the most basic parts of us deserve contemplation. What do you think? Editor: I think I'll be looking at feet a little differently now!
